Propel was set up in 2001 by our founders, Melina Jacovou and Emma McNamara. The intentions were simple - to build a digital focussed recruitment consultancy that offered recruitment experiences as they should be, contributed expertise and facilitated a positive change in our clients businesses. Digital wasn’t even really an industry back then and so we were the first out of the blocks to help companies take advantage of the internet revolution and the variety of roles, tasks and challenges it presented. It was clear that there were a lack of skilled recruitment consultancies out there that knew this fledgling skill set well. So, we set about helping companies get ‘digital’.
Propel offers a comprehensive graduate scheme for bright young things eager to start a career in digital recruitment. Our internal recruitment process is thorough at all level, and for graduates we make sure we only ever hire individuals with a sharp mind, a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed. Once hired, Propel’s support network allows for consistent training and development. New recruits are taken through a Personal Development Plan and have weekly and monthly meetings with their line managers to track their progress. Our Operations Manager provides extensive training for the database and use of the vast contact network we have here at Propel, and the more experienced recruiters are always be around to lend a hand day to day. Our Commercial Director, James Webb is a great example of how Propel has supported graduates’ progress through the company – he started as a recent graduate Resourcer in 2004. Propel has a resident Training and Development Manager whose role is centred on the career progression of our staff, particularly grads who are keen to move up the ranks. The T&D Manager caters to the needs of each individual through a wide range of training days and training courses to mould to individual consultant needs. Propel also employs Anna Rassmussen Ltd to provide leadership training classes for those at senior management level.
