Channel 4 is one of the strongest and most desirable brands in British media. It has a reputation for being ground-breaking, provocative and talked about. The Channel 4 brand needs to communicate the eclectic and diverse range of content on the core channel, the rapidly growing portfolio of free-to-air digital channels and then launch the continuing growth of 4OD.

The Press and Publicity Department is responsible for all Channel 4's editorial dealings with other media. The team publicise our programme output across print, broadcast, online and social media; driving viewers and users to the Group's programmes and services and helping it deliver it's commercial objectives.

The department also aims to protect and enhance the Group's public service reputation through external communications. It is responsible for rapid rebuttal of critical press comment, generating positive executive profile and managing issues arising out of content and operations.

Our corporate team looks after Channel 4's reputation as a business and brand, and our publicity team delivers consumer campaigns for our specific genres of programming (factual; factual entertainment and features; comedy and entertainment; drama and film). Picture publicists create images for the media and the channel's own platforms. We also work with specialist freelancers and agencies as required.
