Whether you’re multi-tasking in one of our 2,500 stores or working in one of our fashionable and fast-paced head offices, we guarantee you’ll relish the thrill of being at the centre of a business devoted to bringing our customers the best and most inspirational fashion on the high street.
It should come as no surprise that working as a Finance Analyst for Arcadia will demand a head for figures, but there’s a lot more to it than that. When it comes to filling these positions, we look for individuals who are passionate about the fashion retail industry (but you don’t have to have a fashion degree) and have the skills to manage our budgets so our brands remain successful. With new projects evolving all the time, there’s no “typical” day in Finance but you can expect to be involved in a lot of analysis and business planning such as co-ordinating budgets, plans and forecasts, and developing weekly and monthly trading reports to ensure that our brands are performing to plan. You will also be able to spot anomalies and react to them quickly. Needless to say, this is a role that will appeal to people with a flair for being reactive and proactive. For example, by keeping your ear to the ground so that you can update your team on the latest “must have” that we should be investing in. In order that you receive the experience and training you need to prepare you for the next stage of your career, we’ve developed a carefully structured graduate programme called “Exceed”. Once embarked on this you’ll proceed through a rotation that comprises three phases – Buying and Merchandising Finance, where you will support our teams to ensure that they are getting the best value from their suppliers. Retail Finance, where the focus is about how our stores are trading and what product lines we should be investing in. Finally you will also spend time in a Group role, looking at central costs and supporting key departments such as Logistics and IT and helping them to manage and control their costs. Throughout the programme you’ll study towards your CIMA or ACCA following a syllabus that gets proven results – our 2010 trainees achieved an 86% pass rate that put us in the top 10% of UK students taking the BPP’s examination. We will also provide you with a full study package, including study leave, tuition fees and support from a buddy/mentor to help you each step of the way. By taking part in the rotation programme, you will be in a great position to have the right experience and exposure to enable you to progress to a Finance Manager position. In this role, you’ll get to pass on the benefit of a great education by taking new graduates under your wing and teaching them everything you know.
