Jp Morgan

Job Role: Risk

Company Info:

Since our inception over 200 years ago, we've evolved to offer the whole spectrum of global banking and financial services, and in many cases, we've helped define them. It is the combination of character, product strength and intellectual capital that sets us apart as an industry leader. We invented the concept of relationship banking back in the nineteenth century, and we are still doing “first-class business in a first-class way.”

Today, we work together across our businesses and around the globe to meet the complex financial needs of corporations, governments, private firms, financial institutions, non-profit organizations and individuals.

J.P. Morgan employs more than 70,000 people globally, and the firm has assets of $2.2 trillion. We have offices in more than 50 countries and clients in more than 100 countries around the world — and as a testament to our global platform and leadership, lead the industry in most markets in which we operate. Founded in 1799 in the United States, J.P. Morgan is truly a global organization. Our roots in Europe date back to 1838, and we've been in Asia since 1872.

Job Description:

Risk is central to everything we do. And the people who work here influence major transactional and strategic decisions. Join us, and you’ll experience the impact Risk has on the wider firm for yourself. Plus, you’ll work alongside top-tier professionals, learn from some of the best minds in the industry, and build long-lasting networks.

The responsibility and client exposure we’ll give you from the very start will help you understand just how pivotal risk management is at our firm. You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of our business by shaping it yourself. This is where your global career begins.

With our support, you’ll develop your skills by:

Using financial models to predict our client’s ability to repay their debts

Performing due diligence, to help decide whether a client is suitable for us – and that we’re suitable for them

Assigning credit ratings, and take responsibility for our knowledge of clients’ credit situations

Analyzing and review our transactions with clients

Monitoring our exposure to risk

Once you’ve completed your initial training, you’ll begin a three-year, rotational program with us. Every 12 months, you’ll join a new Risk team, developing your abilities to become a valued member in each team. By the end of your three years you’ll be a well-rounded risk professional, and more than capable of dealing with the challenges that we face in our line of work.
